Our friends at The Hoxton hooked us up with a deal for the weekend but Chicago has plenty of amazing hotels to choose from.

Airports
Chicago O’Hare
45 mins - 1hr from downtown
Chicago Midway
35-50 from downtown
We like and use both airports, Midway is just much smaller and less busy.
Both airports have public transit lines attached. Lyft & Uber fares are typically $40-80 depending on time of day.
Things to Do
If this is your first time in Chicago…
-
The Bean is currently under construction but lucky for you - it won’t be in October!
In case of inclement weather, you can catch an aerial view of The Bean from Cindy’s Rooftop. The food at Cindy’s is mid though (and that’s us being generous) however we love The Chicago Athletic Association so while you’re there stop into The Game Room.
-
Listen…deep dish pizza is not good (fight us!) BUT if you have to have it, get it at Lou Malnatis or Pequods and literally nowhere else. Seriously, promise us you won’t step foot in Giordano’s or Uno.
Pizza not your thing? Get a Chicago dog at Portillos or an Italian beef at Al’s.
-
It’s a tourist’s rite of passage to learn about Chicago’s history and architecture while cruising up and down the Chicago River. Book a ticket here.
If you’ve been here before…
-
We love all of the Hogsalt restaurants, baked goods from places like Sugar Moon, Kasama, Publican and Loaf Lounge. Oh and how could we not mention the iconic cinnamon roll at Ann Sathers!

Whether it’s your first or 20th time in Chicago, the lake is such a treat. You can find us walking or biking here in the early mornings on most weekends.
-
Go beyond downtown and explore neighborhoods like Wicker Park, Logan Square, Pilsen and Andersonville! Just let us know where you’re headed and we can give you recommendations for local spots.
If you don’t plan on leaving the West Loop
-
Eat ramen at High Five Ramen, Mediterranean at Aba, Italian at Monteverde and a range of classics at Trivoli Tavern. For our Philly people, hit J.P. Graziano, Chelsea’s go-to when she’s missing Primo’s Hoagies.
This list of neighborhood restaurants gets our seal of approval.
*note many of these restaurants require reservations in advance.
-
Get coffee at Sawada, Drip Collective or VietFive, drink cocktails at Estereo or Bisous.
-
Visit our favorite barcade Emporium, go mini golfing at Puttery or try your hand at bowling at Punch Bowl Social.
