Stuart Grannen

In 1987, when Stuart opened Architectural Artifacts in Chicago’s northside neighborhood of Ravenswood, it quickly became a place of fascination for the generations of Chicagoans who wandered through. Over the years, Stuart cemented his reputation as one of the world’s premiere dealers of architectural antiques as he helped rescue the city’s treasured but lost architectural heritage.

With the city of Chicago as his place of residence, Stuart purchased an old charcoal factory and collaborated with an internationally acclaimed designer to convert the space into an American Institute of Architects award winning home.

Committed to keeping the original aesthetic of the building, they preserved the fire brick walls, original factory windows and gorgeous timber beam ceilings. With the addition of one of a kind furnishings, art and soul, once the home was complete, Stuart came to the conclusion that this space was too special to keep to himself.

He has graciously decided to let others share in the joy of this architectural masterpiece and his beautiful home, is where our wedding house party will be!
